The Fence Post Bench

About 8 years ago I wanted a bench for my apartment balcony. I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that just wouldn't last. Fence post and deck boards and dowel rods are cheap. So let see what I can make. When we built this we primarily used simple hand tools. A handsaw, a couple chisels, hammers, tape measure, slide rule, and an old bit and brace.

I believe this was made from six 8' long 3-3/4" pressure treated posts, three 6" x 3/4" pressure treated deck boards, five 1" x 48" dowel rods, and two 3/4" x 48" dowel rods cut down for pegs.

After moving into our new home I decided to upgrade the bench a little by rounding some of the sharpe edges and relieving the back some.
